For a few years, I've been telling myself that I wanted to write about my experience presiding over disciplinary hearings for BC jails. A big part of me needed to process my own experience. And another part of me felt it was necessary to raise awareness.

It's no accident that people confined behind walls are out of sight and out of mind. To change this, their stories need to be told. I've been trying to do just that.

So it's really great that I can now share with all of you—almost a year and a half later—that my passion project, which began with my own website (harpreetahuja.com), has led to writing for Law360 Canada (LexisNexis).
